Job Title: Postdoctoral Position – RNA modifications in Parkinson’s disease
Job Number: 113304
Location: Chicago, US
Job DescriptionWe are recruiting a postdoctoral researcher and/or a senior research scientist to work in a highly collaborative project investigating RNA modifications and translation regulation in neurodegenerative diseases. The project is investigating how the interplay between RNA damage, ribosome dysfunction, and translation dysregulation influences neuron degeneration in Parkinson’s disease. We integrate RNA biochemistry, chemical biology, massively parallel cell biology assays, and transcriptomics to uncover novel mechanisms of gene expression regulation and generate new tools and methods that can be harnessed for therapeutic purposes.
As part of the project at Northwestern University – Feinberg School of Medicine, we are surrounded by a highly collaborative and supportive environment with a wide range of translational and basic science researchers.
Requirements: Candidates must possess a Ph.D. in fields related to Molecular and Cellular Biology, Neurobiology, Chemical Biology, or Chemical Engineering. Candidates with solid foundations and demonstrated experience in chemical biology, RNA biology, and/or computational biology are preferred. Expertise in Ribo-seq, mapping of RNA modification, or the development of next-generation sequencing approaches is required.
Interested individuals should submit a single PDF containing a CV, a summary of research interests, accomplishments, and scientific experience, and the contact information for at least three references.
