Actalent is hiring for an Associate Scientist I in the North Chicago, IL area!

Job Description

We are seeking an Associate Scientist I to join our team in testing new Transfusion Medicine products within a lab environment. The data generated from your work will be submitted to the FDA for approval. This role involves 75% of your time in the lab, working on assays and instruments related to transfusion medicine, and 25% at your desk, focusing on documentation.

Responsibilities

* Conduct testing of new Transfusion Medicine products in a laboratory setting.

* Generate data for submission to the FDA for approval.

* Spend 75% of work time in the lab working on assays and instruments.

* Allocate 25% of work time to documentation tasks.

* Ensure adherence to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) during all testing procedures.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in a relevant field; a master's degree is considered overqualified.

* 1-2 years of experience, entry-level candidates will be considered.

* Familiarity with lab Instruments is advantageous.

* Experience in a laboratory setting and understanding of quality processes is a plus.

* Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is beneficial.

Work Environment

The regular hours are Monday to Friday, 8 hours between 7:00 AM and 10:00 PM - must be able to work any shift within this window. Occasionally on Saturdays, 1-2 times per month, from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM. Candidates must be adaptable to changes in the schedule due to unexpected circumstances, such as a colleague's absence. The environment is professional and requires compliance with safety and quality standards.

This is a Contract position based out of Abbott Park, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
