We are currently seeking two Applications Scientist to join our team!
Responsibilities- Provide technical consultation to customers on all Vector Builder’s research-grade products and services through virtual meetings, emails, and in-person visits.
- Deliver technical training sessions for customers and internal colleagues.
- Coordinate project management with our R&D scientists, production teams, and technical support teams.
- Review, analyze, and compose technical reports for internal and contract research projects.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends in gene therapy, gene editing, delivery systems, and related fields.
- Occasionally work outside standard business hours to support communication and collaboration with international teams.
- Related duties as needed.
- PhD in the field of molecular biology, genetics, cell biology, or closely related research area.
- Hands‑on vector cloning and virus production experience.
- Extensive experience with common molecular biology experiments, e.g. PCR (and its derived versions), western blot, ELISA, flow cytometry, HPLC, etc., cell culture, and animal studies.
- Proficiency with scientific software and analysis tools, such as Vector Bee, Snap Gene, Flow Jo, Prism, bioinformatics platforms, and AI-based research tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present scientific concepts and technical data to diverse audiences.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional, and international team environment.
- Mandarin proficiency is strongly preferred.
Compensation is based on background and experience. This is a full‑time, salaried, benefits‑eligible position located in Chicago, IL. Relocation bonus is available.
Salary range: $60,000.00 - $ per year
