Research Analyst, Prospect Management & Research
Position number: 8102768. Work Modality:
Hybrid – 4 In‑Person.
Location:
Development & Donor Services, Chicago‑Water Tower Campus. Job Type: Full‑Time. FLSA Status:
Exempt.
Salary: $55,000 – $65,000 annually.
Responsibilities- Analyze and document complex information to assess financial capacity, philanthropic tendencies, giving propensity, and linkages to campus.
- Extract and record key information that informs cultivation and solicitation strategies.
- Produce timely in‑depth research and profiles on individuals, corporations, and foundations.
- Proactively identify sources of leadership annual and major gift support from CRM and other research techniques.
- Support evaluative research activities related to the implementation of data from wealth screenings.
- Collaborate with supervisor on pool and pipeline prioritization and management.
- Maintain prospect knowledge in a complex database system for campus‑wide fundraising staff.
- Track and disseminate donor and prospect‑related information; monitor news and publicly available financial information.
- Maintain strong knowledge of Loyola University Chicago’s programs, projects, personnel, and initiatives.
- Work with Advancement team to build relationships that support philanthropic engagement.
- Serve as subject‑matter expert with prospect research, wealth events, trends, and industry trends.
- Train users on donor‑related data, processes, and protocols.
- Perform timely and accurate entry of key prospect information into the Kindsight Ascend database.
- Maintain well‑organized, accurate, and complete internal databases for all Advancement staff.
- Assist Director of Prospect Management & Research with data tasks including prospect coding, tracking, status monitoring, reporting.
- Maintain proficiency with prospect research resources and stay abreast of new resources and technologies.
- Safeguard confidentiality of constituent information in accordance with ethical guidelines.
- Perform additional duties and assist with special projects as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Preferred one to three years of experience in a development setting at a non‑profit, library research setting, or information‑related field.
- Proficiency in synthesizing material from multiple sources and presenting it clearly.
- Effective communication, presentation, and response to stakeholder questions.
- Ability to review and audit database entries for accuracy.
- Willingness to learn new software programs and web‑based applications.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and communicate results timely.
- Ability to work under time pressure and frequent requests.
- Demonstrated problem‑solving skills.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word. Advanced proficiency with Excel preferred.
- Proficient in internet, email, and other office automation systems.
- Will be trained to advanced/expert proficiency on University systems.
- Familiarity with prospect research resources, business and philanthropic publications, and automated databases.
No supervisory responsibilities.
Other- No required operation of university owned vehicles.
- No direct animal or patient contact.
- No special physical demands.
- No special working conditions.
