SUHI is seeking a Senior Research Specialist to work on the Health Equity Research and Evaluation (HERE) strategy.

The Senior Research Specialist is responsible for the management of data related to designated research projects, which includes supporting qualitative research efforts including data collection (e.g., semi-structured interviews, focus groups, document review), analysis, and interpretation. The person will also support survey development and distribution, quantitative data management and cleaning, and descriptive analysis. The Senior Research Specialist applies the appropriate research methods and best practices to ensure accurate data-driven decision-making and reporting as well as support the organization’s strategic initiatives.

WHAT

YOU WILL DO
  • Oversee recruitment, enrollment and tracking of subjects
  • Perform literature searches for proposals, reports and/or publications
  • Develop and/or identify data collection forms for program use and collects data from program participants and/or other sources
  • Oversee data collection, entry and management, including reporting, trouble shooting, quality control, basic analysis, and communication with research staff
  • Develop databases, reports, and/or queries to pull relevant data for reporting purposes
  • Assist in the preparation of presentation materials including PowerPoint slides, tables, and graphs
  • Serve as point of contact for collaborative projects with internal and external partners
  • Schedule meetings, recording meeting minutes, documenting project work, and other administrative duties
  • Prepare IRB protocols and maintains IRB approval
  • May oversee and advise junior staff in data collection, management, entry and reporting
  • Support the development and planning of new projects and programs
  • Provide input on and may assist in creating/revising project protocols
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
  • An MPH or MS in epidemiology, sociology, statistics, or a related field and at least one year of work experience in a public health or research setting; OR a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 6 years of work experience in a public health or research setting
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point. Experience with Redcap and qualitative and quantitative analysis software, preferred
  • Superior organizational and data management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to play an active role in monitoring and reporting on data
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both a professional and community setting
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work on several projects at one time
  • Demonstrated commitment to racial and health equity
