Lab Manager
The Development of Social Cognition Lab and the Developmental Investigations of Behavior & Strategy Laboratory are hiring a Lab Manager to manage their developmental psychology research programs, including their virtual kids' testing lab, Social Kids Lab Online.
Research topics focus on the development of social cognition and moral reasoning in childhood. The job provides technical support activities related to scientific research projects. Ensures compliance of research activities with institutional, state, and federal regulatory policies, procedures, directives and mandates. Assists in drafting presentations on research findings.
Responsibilities include managing multiple parts of the research projects, stimuli preparation and experimental design, interfacing with family, museum, and school partners, performing editorial and copy-editing functions as needed, assisting with the installation, setting up and performing experiments, managing and extending our online database for testing participants, outreach, communication, and public facing aspects of the lab's work to parents, educators, and broader audiences, managing grant activities and aiding with the development of grant proposals, providing technical and administrative support for a research project, collecting and entering data, assisting in analyzing data, assisting with preparation of reports, manuscripts and other documents, and performing other related work as needed.
Minimum qualifications include vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in a related field (not typically required to have a four-year degree). Work experience includes knowledge and skills developed through 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline.
Preferred qualifications include a BA in Psychology or a related field and relevant research experience.
