Position Summary

The CCTS Associate Director of Evaluation and Tracking plans, develops and implements the unit's core mission strategies including overseeing the development of processes for capturing output and outcome data used to evaluate performance effectiveness and track progress and impact among the various programs of the CCTS. Develops objectives and design research and data collection procedures for the Evaluation and Tracking Program.

Provide expertise in science policy and studies of collaboration and interdisciplinarity. This position works with senior leadership and core directors to collect evaluation data, produce regular and periodic reports to meet aims and communicate accurate reporting of evaluation findings. Serves as team lead for the CTSA Consortium Impact committee and working groups; and represents the CTSA at national meetings and within the national CTSA consortium.

Duties & Responsibilities

Plan, develop and implement the unit's core mission strategies. Duties include the development of objectives and design of research and data collection procedures for the Evaluation and Tracking Core in the Center for Clinical and Translational Sciences to capture output and outcome data used to evaluate performance effectiveness and track progress among the various cores and programs within the CCTS. Conceptualize, initiate and execute research goals for the project, including the development and evaluation of designs for each of the center's core components and programs.

Monitor the process to ensure appropriate methods for maintaining the systems are established and followed and the required operating and information systems and resources are in place to accurately evaluate the Center outcomes. Provide expertise in integration and analysis of longitudinal survey, grant, contract, patent and publication data and qualitative interview-based data as well as quantitative program evaluation methods; science and technology outputs, outcomes and impacts;

social network analysis as well as traditional statistical methods; science policy studies of collaboration and interdisciplinarity. Work with CCTS senior leadership and core directors to collect and analyze evaluation data. Produce regular and periodic reports for the CCTS team and for the University as a whole to meet project aims and effectively communicate the accurate reporting of evaluation findings. Collaborate with the CTSA Consortium and Enterprise Committees to develop, demonstrate and disseminate metrics established to assess and optimize the CTSA Program 's overall impact.

Represent CCTS on local and national committees and working groups aimed at develop short and long term strategies for assessing quality and process improvements in research. Serve as a liaison for the CCTS at national meetings and within the national CTSA consortium in addition to other related duties

Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

* A minimum of a Master's degree in health, biological, social, or behavioral science required;
PhD preferred

* Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in research, program evaluation, data analysis, or performance measurement

* Demonstrated experience designing and implementing quantitative and/or qualitative research or evaluation studies
