Ranked among the finest cancer programs in the country, the Section is comprised of nationally and internationally known faculty with expertise in all major types of malignancies, blood disorders, and experimental therapies.
Job SummaryThe Lead Clinical Research Data Manager will perform a variety of data management duties of a complex and technical nature in support of clinical research studies conducted by principal investigators for the clinical research program to ensure adherence to protocols and the quality of information received.
Responsibilities- Lead and oversee all data management tasks in support of high‑complexity clinical research studies with no oversight.
- Manage document collection and review in collaboration with the principal investigator while maintaining confidentiality.
- Direct quality assurance reviews conducted by study sponsors, federal agencies, or internal review groups.
- Oversee study‑related documentation for analysis, such as protocol worksheets, adverse event reports, IRB documents, or progress reports, and identify operational trends that require corrective actions.
- Supervise 1–2 data managers, assign studies, balance workload, provide performance feedback, and lead recruitment for new positions.
- Perform other related work as needed.
- College or university degree in a related field.
- 5–7 years of work experience in a related discipline.
- Bachelor's degree.
- 5 years of research experience, including 3 years in clinical research.
- Advanced data management skills, including database design, integration across multiple sources, discrepancy identification, and quality control implementation.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat, with experience handling large datasets, pivot tables, complex formulas, automated reports, and regulatory‑compliant documents.
- Familiarity with electronic data capture systems such as RAVE, Inform, and REDCap.
- Strong analytical skills, ability to handle competing demands with diplomacy and enthusiasm, and a high attention to detail.
- Capacity to work collaboratively with divisional research offices, maintain confidentiality, adapt to changing situations, and work independently as part of a team.
Salary: $65,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
