Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Research Assistant role located in Maywood, IL (Great Chicago Area). The Research Assistant will support faculty‑led research projects focused on stem cell, regenerative, and lung biology in mice and humans, including:

  • Planning, implementation, and analysis of research projects, as instructed by the Principal Investigator (PI).
  • Assist tissue harvesting (lung, spleen, blood, BALF, airway), and mouse injections, such as intraperitoneal, intravenous, subcutaneous, and intratracheal injections.
  • Establish lung disease modeling in mice following various established injury protocols.
  • Assist PI, research staff, and students with lab procedures and projects as needed, such as immunohistochemistry, microscopy, flow cytometry, and tissue cell cultures.
  • Maintain overall lab organization, including ordering supplies, preparing reagents, monitoring equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Maintain all study records in secure files.
  • Troubleshoot problems with methodology.
  • Attend weekly journal clubs, department seminars, and lab meetings.
