Role Description

This full-time, on-site Postdoctoral Fellow position in Mucosal Immunity, Immunometabolism, and HIV is based at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, IL. The fellow will conduct experimental and translational research focused on mucosal immune responses, metabolic pathways in immune cells, and mechanisms of HIV infection and persistence. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and performing laboratory experiments, following non-human primate studies, analyzing and interpreting data, maintaining accurate research records, and contributing to manuscript preparation and grant applications.

The role also involves staying current with relevant literature, adhering to institutional and regulatory research standards, and contributing to the overall scientific goals of the research program.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated Laboratory Skills in immunology, cell culture, molecular biology, or related experimental techniques relevant to mucosal immunity, immunometabolism, and HIV.
  • Strong Research experience, including hypothesis development, experimental design, and scholarly dissemination through publications and presentations.
  • Proficiency in Data Analysis using statistical tools, software (e.g., R, Python, or equivalent), and rigorous interpretation of complex datasets.
  • PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in immunology, microbiology, virology, biomedical sciences, or a closely related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively within a diverse, interdisciplinary research team.
  • Commitment to ethical research conduct, attention to detail, and strong organizational and time-management abilities.
