Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Operate research laboratory equipment used is specimen, centrifugation, and storage/handling of specimens.
  • Ensures site compliance with research protocols by reviewing all regulatory requirements to confirm implementation of appropriate methods, practices, and procedures for all research activities.
  • Recruit and screen candidates and/or subjects for research study eligibility by scheduling study visit appointments and informing potential candidates of projects and process.
  • Develops accurate source materials and ensures compliance from site staff.
  • Collect, document, and maintain clinical data according to requirements and procedures.
  • Provides accurate and timely data collection, documentation, entry, and reporting in both sponsor and UIC databases.
  • Ensures appropriate credentialing and training of the study team.
  • Supports the regulatory staff in the maintenance of regulatory documents in accordance with UIC SOP and applicable regulations.
  • Create reports, grant applications (including budgets) and author and coauthor articles for publication.
  • Collect specimens such as blood and/or tissue and arrange for shipment to offsite lab.
  • Interfaces with research participants, to support efforts to determine eligibility and consenting of study participants according to protocol.
  • Communicates and collaborates specific study requirements to the research team, including internal and external parties, sponsor, monitors, PI and study participants.
  • Analyze laboratory results.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

Required:
  • Licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in Illinois with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, Division of Professional Regulation.
  • One year of work experience as a Registered Professional Nurse.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Master's Degree in Science or Nursing or a closely related field.
    • Minimum of 2 years of training and/or experience in a clinical research setting.
    • Strong analytical and writing skills.
    • Demonstrated experience in outpatient or inpatient Transplant nursing.
