Job Summary

The Steward supports kitchen and dining operations by maintaining cleanliness, organization, and safety within food preparation and service areas. This role is essential for ensuring that kitchen tools, equipment, and dining spaces are properly sanitized and ready for use throughout the audit engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Wash, sanitize, and store all kitchen utensils, equipment, and dishes in accordance with food safety and hygiene standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in all kitchen areas, including floors, countertops, and equipment storage
  • Assist with food preparation and assist chefs or prep cooks with basic tasks as needed
  • Ensure that all cleaning materials are stored safely and used according to proper guidelines
  • Transport dirty dishes, utensils, and cooking tools to the appropriate cleaning areas
  • Assist with setting up and breaking down kitchen and dining areas during service
  • Monitor cleanliness and organization of back-of-house areas throughout the day
  • Dispose of trash and waste following health and safety protocols
  • Support kitchen staff in maintaining stock levels of cleaning supplies, utensils, and equipment
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation protocols
  • Ability to work efficiently and maintain high standards of cleanliness in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety and cleaning procedures
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a kitchen environment
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects, such as dishes and kitchen equipment (with or without accommodations)
  • Excellent time‑management skills and ability to multitask
  • Adaptability to changing work environments and schedules
