Cafe FOH​/BOH Team Member

JOB SUMMARY

The Café Team Member is primarily responsible for serving guests efficiently with food and drink at the Urban Air Café. Working hours will be spent in the kitchen and/or service area, cashiering, interacting with guests, cooking, preparing and serving food. The employee must work fast with a sense of urgency while offering amazing standards of guest service and care.

• Demonstrate the highest standards of guest relations and care when assisting guests at the counter
• Give advice, guidance and recommendations on products and menu selection to guests to ensure a positive experience and repeat business
• Ensure adequate stock levels of supplies and consumables for the Café area
• Manage queues and exceed guest expectations; upsell to maximize profit
• Keep the Café and surrounding areas tidy and clean; this includes table clearing, washing dishes, and taking out the trash
• Handle guest complaints in the first instance and report feedback to the Leadership Team
• Work within established guidelines and operating procedures
• Measure and assemble ingredients for menu items
• Properly cook and store food items at appropriate temperatures
• Ensure compliance with all health code regulations
• Maintain clear, well‑organized kitchen and storage areas
• Participate in regular staff meetings and training, as required
• Other duties as tasked by Leadership

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent; some College preferred
• Basic math skills (adding and subtracting)
• Serv Safe or similar food handling certification preferred

• Friendly and engaging personality; good written and verbal communication; can work under pressure
• Comfortable interacting with members of the public, initiating conversations and providing a sincere welcome
• Willingness to learn, take instruction and work independently; supports other team members and can multitask
• Effective, well‑organized and efficient team player with strong discipline and urgency
• Accountable for high personal standards of conduct and professionalism

• Work days, nights, and/or weekends as required
• Work in a noisy, fast‑paced environment
• Move around the facility and stand for long periods of time
• Lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
