Position Summary

the Albert at Hotel EMC2 is seeking an engaging, knowledgeable, and service-focused Bartender to join our Food & Beverage team. The Bartender is responsible for creating an exceptional and memorable experience for every guest through attentive service, expertly prepared beverages, strong product knowledge, and genuine hospitality.

The ideal candidate has a passion for hospitality, cocktails, food and beverage, and creating meaningful guest connections. This position requires the ability to thrive in a fast-paced restaurant and hotel environment while maintaining the elevated service standards expected at a Marriott Autograph Collection property.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide warm, professional, and attentive service to all guests.
  • Welcome guests promptly and create a positive and engaging bar experience.
  • Prepare and serve cocktails, wine, beer, non-alcoholic beverages, and specialty drinks according to established recipes and presentation standards.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of the beverage menu, cocktail ingredients, spirits, wine, beer, and food offerings.
  • Make knowledgeable recommendations based on guest preferences and menu selections.
  • Accurately take and enter food and beverage orders using the designated POS system.
  • Properly handle cash, credit card transactions, room charges, and other approved forms of payment.
  • Verify guest identification and follow all applicable liquor laws and responsible alcohol-service requirements.
  • Monitor guest alcohol consumption and professionally address situations involving responsible beverage service.
  • Prepare the bar for service by stocking liquor, beer, wine, garnishes, glassware, ice, supplies, and other necessary items.
  • Maintain proper inventory levels throughout the shift and communicate shortages or product needs to management.
  • Follow established recipes, portion-control standards, and beverage-cost procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, sanitary, and visually appealing bar and service area throughout the shift.
  • Properly clean and sanitize bar equipment, tools, glassware, counters, and work areas.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, health department, and workplace safety requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with servers, culinary team members, hosts, managers, and other departments to ensure seamless guest service.
  • Assist with opening and closing responsibilities, including stocking, cleaning, cash handling, and securing alcoholic beverages.
  • Support restaurant events, private functions, banquets, and special hotel programming as assigned.
  • Respond professionally to guest questions, concerns, and special requests and involve management when appropriate.
  • Follow Hotel EMC2, the Albert, Marriott brand, and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintain professional grooming, uniform, attendance, and punctuality standards.
  • Attend required meetings, training sessions, and departmental activities.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications
  • Previous bartending experience in a restaurant, hotel, lounge, or similar hospitality environment preferred.
  • Luxury, lifestyle, upscale restaurant, or full-service hotel experience is a plus.
