- Greets guests promptly and provides courteous service.
- Determines the reason for each visit, explains store processes, and handles related paperwork.
- Reviews prescriptions and patient information, identifies special needs, and consults with opticians, doctors, or management as necessary.
- Shows patience and courtesy with all guests and patients, including the indecisive or difficult.
- Maintains accuracy while managing workflow under time pressure.
- Demonstrates knowledge of appointment scheduling, computer operation, and POS systems.
- Handles and files all patient records in an organized, efficient manner.
- Places contact lens orders, processes shipments, and submits invoices for payment.
- Collects accurate payments following POS procedures.
- Upkeeps store appearance, ensuring displays are clean, attractive, and organized.
- Reports potential safety opportunities and follows safe work practices.
- Performs pre‑examination testing with precision and communicates measurements to patients.
- Provides coaching on contact‑lens care and handling.
- Maintains and disinfects contact‑lens inventory and offers clinical support as needed.
- Minimum of one year of strong guest‑service experience.
- High school graduate, GED, or equivalent experience.
- Excellent communicator and listener.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Strong interpersonal skills (friendly, caring, patient).
- Sales skills.
- Knowledge of store merchandise.
- Familiarity with cash register, computers, and calculators.
- Previous experience in guest service, retail, or optical setting.
Pay Range
: $19.49 – $41.95 per hour, plus potential bonus or commission.
