Overview
We are seeking a talented and creative Visual Merchandiser to join our team at Local Eclectic. We are opening our first store in Chicago and this role is crucial in this next phase of Local Eclectic as we transition from being an online-only brand to multiple channels. As a Visual Merchandiser, you will be responsible for creating visually compelling and inspiring displays that showcase our unique jewelry collections and tell captivating stories to enhance the customer shopping experience.
The ideal candidate will be creative, organized, and have prior experience working in retail. Your ability to understand our customer’s needs and translate that into visual storytelling will help drive sales and elevate the brand’s aesthetic.
- Create Inspirational Displays: Design, implement, and maintain eye-catching and cohesive visual displays that highlight the beauty and craftsmanship of our jewelry collections. Displays should align with seasonal themes, trends, and promotional campaigns. Think creatively to bring display ideas to life by partnering with new vendors or using unique materials that stand out from traditional jewelry displays and make our jewelry shine.
- Curate Product Stories: Develop creative “stories” by grouping and arranging jewelry pieces in a way that resonates with customers. Each display should highlight the collection’s uniqueness and inspire a purchase.
- Optimize Product Placement: Ensure displays are strategically placed to attract attention, promote our most popular products while respecting space constraints and promoting newly launched products on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Collaborate with the Product Team: Work with product, planning, and marketing teams to communicate visual merchandising needs and ensure displays are well-stocked and updated with the latest collections.
- Maintain Store Presentation: Keep all displays and product presentations clean, organized, and up-to-date. Ensure jewelry is well-positioned for visibility and accessibility.
- Train Retail Staff on Layout: Work with the retail team to ensure staff are trained on how jewelry should be displayed and organized throughout the day.
- Understand Customer Preferences: Analyze customer behavior to determine effective display strategies and tailor displays to meet shopping habits.
- Ensure Brand Consistency: Follow the company’s visual merchandising guidelines to maintain consistency in the store’s overall aesthetic and reinforce brand identity.
- Monitor Inventory Needs: Regularly assess inventory levels of displayed products and coordinate with planning to ensure timely restocking of key pieces.
- Seasonal and Promotional Displays: Create seasonal, holiday, and promotional window and in-store displays that reflect current marketing initiatives. Stay aware of sales trends to refresh displays and maximize sales.
- Report and Feedback: Provide feedback on display performance and suggest adjustments to maximize customer engagement and sales. Regularly report on merchandising issues, opportunities, and successes.
