Chicago Teahouse is a charming boutique tea shop located in downtown Chicago, founded and operated by a passionate tea sommelier. Specializing in over 200 varieties of loose-leaf teas sourced from renowned tea gardens worldwide, we strive to provide a personalized and authentic tea experience. Guests can explore our curated selection of teas and enjoy complimentary samples in a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere.

This is a part-time, on-site role for a Tea Associate based in Chicago, IL. The Tea Associate will assist customers in selecting from our wide range of teas, providing product knowledge and personalized recommendations. Responsibilities include maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the shop, processing sales transactions, restocking and displaying products, and creating a welcoming experience for all customers. The role also involves preparing tea samples and assisting with events or promotions hosted by the teahouse.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to provide excellent customer service and build rapport with guests
• Knowledge of or interest in tea varieties, preparation, and traditions
• Attention to detail with skills in maintaining cleanliness and organization in a retail setting
• Basic skills in sales transactions, cash handling, and operating point-of-sale systems
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, and handle a fast-paced environment
• Previous experience in retail, hospitality, or food and beverage services is a plus
• Passion for creating memorable experiences and fostering a sense of community
