Overview
The Hermès Chicago Boutique will open in 1990 and will focus on providing extraordinary service to clients as part of the Northern Region. This position reports to the Operations Manager and works collaboratively with the sales team and selling support teams to support the client experience in a fast‑paced, luxury environment.
OpportunityThe Selling and Service Assistant (SSA) provides clerical support for both front and back‑of‑house operations. The SSA processes and ensures the accuracy of all transactions, manages after‑sales services when needed, and partners with management on POS decisions. All other duties are as assigned by the supervisor.
About the Role- Accurately record point‑of‑sale transactions at the register: processing sales, sending, repairs, and assisting with opening and closing procedures.
- Consistently provide high levels of service to clients per Hermès standards.
- Support sales team operations: merchandising, returning merchandise, retrieving stock, and preparing stock room.
- Organize and prioritize workstation and selling floor to support sales effort.
- Assist in stockroom operations: replenishment, EAS tagging, ticketing, and physical inventory preparation.
- Support after‑sales area: logging repairs, contacting clients, maintaining records.
- Record accurate CRM files.
- Answer phones in a timely manner and offer friendly customer service.
- No supervisory responsibility.

- 1 year retail experience, luxury environment preferred.
- Strong communication skills.
- Experience with POS and/or cash handling.
- Customer service oriented.
- Ability to multi‑task.
- Detail oriented.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Computer skills:
Microsoft Office. - Ability to handle difficult situations with grace, compassion, and composure.
- Ability to lift 0–25 lbs. without assistance.
The range for this role is $22.00 to $25.00 per hour. Actual rates are determined based on the job, location, and individual experience.
