Retail Store Sales Associate - Chicago Market

By exhibiting exceptional teamwork, boundless curiosity, and the utmost care, this Retail Store Sales Associate will assist the team in fulfilling Blick’s commitment to our customers, the arts, and our local communities. The associate maintains outstanding customer service, generates revenue through product knowledge, housekeeping, merchandising, sign‑pricing, POS operations, and loss prevention in adherence to all company policies and procedures.

• Consistently deliver superior customer service by combining sales, product knowledge, and other skill training to meet or exceed customer expectations.
• Complete training programs:
  Blick Onboarding Training, Blick Sales Training, Preferred Customer Program, Special Orders, and Custom Services Training from NDS.
• Provide customer service at the Custom Services desk, including making appointments, consulting on projects, taking orders, and delivering completed orders in store.
• Display an energetic and positive attitude in all customer interactions.
• Assist in the coordination of merchandise set‑ups; apply visual standards and techniques; implement and maintain store layout as set forth by management.
• Follow directions and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Report low stock levels, inventory discrepancies, and customer product requests to management as required.

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Working knowledge of traditional fine art mediums preferred (paint, markers, pencils, printmaking materials, clay, paper, etc.).

• Availability for flexible schedules including day/evening shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Regular attendance in accordance with the retail attendance policy.
• Average of 15–25 hours per week based on availability and business needs.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

• Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds with appropriate lifting techniques and safety rules.
• Prolonged walking, standing, and climbing ladders.

Minimal local travel may be required.

• High School Graduate or equivalent.

$17.10 – $17.30 per hour + sales incentives.
