Position OverviewThe Assistant Store Manager is a full-time, on-site leadership position supporting an assigned Uni Uni Boba location in the Greater Chicago Area. This posting covers multiple Chicago-area stores, and selected candidates will be matched with a location based on staffing needs, experience, and commute.
Working closely with the Store Manager, the Assistant Store Manager helps lead daily operations, coach the store team, maintain Uni Uni’s product and service standards, and create an organized, positive environment for both customers and employees. This is a hands-on role. The Assistant Store Manager should be comfortable leading a shift, solving problems in real time, and stepping into Bobarista duties when the store needs support.
Key Responsibilities- Lead daily shifts, assign team members to appropriate stations, and help maintain efficient staffing and scheduling.
- Train, coach, and support Bobaristas while reinforcing teamwork, accountability, and Uni Uni service standards.
- Ensure drinks, toppings, snacks, and other menu items consistently meet approved recipes, quality, appearance, and food-safety standards.
- Complete and verify inventory counts, product ordering, receiving, expiration-date checks, and proper storage.
- Monitor stock levels and communicate product, staffing, equipment, and operational needs promptly to the Store Manager.
- Maintain clean, organized, and customer-ready conditions throughout the front and back of the store.
- Support opening and closing procedures, point-of-sale operations, cash handling, deposits, and routine reporting.
- Address customer concerns and unexpected store situations calmly, professionally, and with sound judgment.
- Help establish and track store performance goals, including sales, service, product quality, and operational execution.
- Support company promotions, local store initiatives, and monthly improvement plans, then report results, challenges, and recommended next steps.
- Help resolve team conflicts constructively and ensure company policies and operating procedures are followed consistently.
- Serve as acting manager when the Store Manager is unavailable.
- At least one year of supervisory, shift-lead, assistant-manager, or comparable leadership experience in food service, beverage, hospitality, or retail is strongly preferred.
- Previous bubble tea, cafe, quick-service restaurant, or high-volume customer-service experience is a plus.
- Professional working proficiency in English for communication with customers, employees, and management.
- Additional language skills, especially Mandarin

, organization, time-management, and problem-solving skills. - Ability to coach employees, provide clear direction, and hold team members accountable respectfully.
- Comfortable working with inventory, ordering, point-of-sale systems, cash handling, and basic operational reporting.
- Strong attention to recipe execution, presentation, cleanliness, and customer experience.
- Ability to remain composed and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform the physical duties associated with normal store operations.
- Availability to work a flexible full-time schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
- Food Handler certification, or willingness to obtain required food-safety certification within the applicable timeframe.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Salary: $5,000 per month.
