This full-time, on-site Salesperson role is based on Michigan Ave in Chicago, IL. The Salesperson will greet customers, understand their needs, and provide informed recommendations on footwear, fit, and accessories. Daily responsibilities include maintaining product knowledge, presenting features and benefits, handling point-of-sale transactions, and ensuring accurate processing of sales and returns. The role also involves maintaining store appearance, assisting with merchandising and inventory replenishment, and supporting in-store promotions and events.
The Salesperson will work collaboratively with team members to meet sales goals, deliver high-quality service, and uphold the Allen Edmonds brand standards.
- Sales and customer service skills, including needs-based selling, active listening, and relationship building.
- Retail operations skills such as point-of-sale (POS) use, cash handling, and basic inventory management.
- Communication and interpersonal skills to engage a diverse customer base and collaborate with team members.
- Product knowledge aptitude, with the ability to learn footwear construction, fit, materials, and care.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in merchandising, store presentation, and recordkeeping.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, move merchandise, and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Prior retail or sales experience in footwear, apparel, or luxury goods is preferred but not required.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in business, retail management, or related fields is a plus.
