Seasonal Sales Associate

Genevieve Boutique is a locally owned women’s fashion destination in Chicago’s Lincoln Square neighborhood, created by founder Genevieve Konz Heyborne. The boutique offers customers a welcoming, cozy atmosphere where they can discover unique, stylish pieces that help them feel confident and polished. Genevieve focuses on blending classic wardrobe essentials with current fashion trends, aiming to deliver “classic with a touch of flair” to every shopper.

The team is dedicated to providing a personalized, relaxing shopping experience that makes every visit feel special and enjoyable.

The Seasonal Sales Associate is a part‑time, seasonal, on‑site position based at Genevieve Boutique in Chicago, IL. In this role, the associate greets customers, offers styling suggestions, and provides a personalized shopping experience that reflects the boutique’s focus on warmth and building confidence. Day‑to‑day tasks include assisting with product selection and fitting, processing sales and returns at the point of sale, maintaining visual displays, and keeping the sales floor neat and organized.

The associate helps with unpacking and prepping new inventory, restocking merchandise, and preparing the store for special events and/or busy seasonal periods. This position also involves communicating current promotions, answering customer questions, and collaborating with team members to ensure an inviting, customer‑focused environment.

• Customer service and retail sales skills, with the ability to build rapport and offer friendly, attentive support to every shopper.
• Interest in fashion and styling, with an eye for combining classic pieces with current trends to create elevated looks.
• Basic point‑of‑sale, cash handling, and transaction processing skills, with strong attention to accuracy and detail.
• Organizational skills for merchandising, restocking, and maintaining a clean, visually appealing store environment.
• Clear verbal communication skills and the ability to listen carefully to customer needs in a fast‑paced setting.
• Reliability in working a flexible, part‑time schedule, including evenings, weekends, and peak holiday periods.
• Ability to stand, move, and lift light to moderate weight merchandise throughout a shift.
• Previous retail or boutique experience is helpful but not required; a genuine enthusiasm for helping customers feel confident is essential.
• Blackout dates applicants must be available:
  October 2-4, November 14, November 27-28, Saturdays and Sundays throughout December.

• Seasonal position will start end of September (exact September date is flexible) with an end date in late December / early January.
• Pay range: $17-$20 per hour, based on experience.
