The Sales Account Manager will be responsible for establishing a sales development strategy to identify, qualify, and sell to new customers in a territory that currently includes the greater Chicago Land. Candidates must live in the Chicagoland area. The Sales Account Manager reports to the Regional Sales Manager.
Responsibilities- Responsible for cultivating relationships with and driving new business through the Pregis channel partner network
- Manage growth and retention of an established book of end-user business by facilitating positive, growth-oriented relationships, sales strategy development, and sales forecasting
- Initiate and quote new items. Establish coordination with operations, customer service, and engineering for new product development to deliver competitive and effective quotes
- Establish legitimate sales forecasts within the assigned territory to help plan for overall sales volume and profit. Regularly analyze market position, profitability, and competitive impact
- Manage all administrative duties within the territory in a timely and accurate fashion. Act with urgency at assigned accounts, support A/R, optimize pricing and profitability, manage CRM, T&E, and related tasks
- University degree or college diploma (business or package engineering preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of outside B2B sales experience
- Track record of prospecting new accounts and generating new business
- Drive new business through existing distribution network within the established territory
- Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of new opportunities
- Highly effective negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to prepare and present compelling sales materials
- Results-oriented and motivated to perform with minimal direct management
- High ethical standards
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Organized with strong time management
- Working knowledge of Pregis products, applications, and manufacturing capabilities
- Good mechanical aptitude and willingness to perform basic machine repairs
- Occasional heavy lifting required
- Travel up to 30%
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
The listed annualized base pay range is based on analysis of similar positions. Actual base pay may vary based on performance and competencies. The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $80-$95K for this salaried exempt position. Compensation details reflect base salary only and do not include benefits.
