Job Overview
Sales – Prudential’s Group Insurance (GI) Distribution organization delivers benefit services and solutions that help make lives better. We are looking for energetic leaders to join our Group Insurance Medical Stop Loss (MSL) Distribution team. As a member of this team you will develop strong relationships with Prudential’s sales organization, brokers, consultants, customers, third‑party administrators and partners to grow the MSL program.
Responsibilities- Grow and protect MSL revenue through broker and general agency meetings, new and renewal business sales, and expanded issuance of MSL coverages.
- Deliver market‑leading service and consultative solutions.
- Provide strategic direction on MSL products and services, including industry trends, to regional distribution teams.
- Partner with regional distribution leaders and underwriting to build business plans that support new and renewal MSL sales and persistency targets.
- Gather and distribute self‑funding and MSL marketing intelligence (e.g., leading trends, challenges, product updates, risk issues) to the GI Distribution team and MSL leadership.
- Serve as the MSL subject‑matter expert for professional development and product knowledge, ensuring distribution employees in assigned regions have the right support, tools and resources.
- Champion continuous improvement to increase customer satisfaction for MSL program products and services.
- Collaborate with internal business partners to ensure producer and customer needs are understood, satisfied and aligned with the overall Group Insurance strategy.
- Build and manage MSL producer partnerships throughout the defined territory to support a high‑quality MSL RFP pipeline.
- Collaborate with the Regional Account Manager to manage RFP workflows, implement new and renewed accounts, and provide producer communications and internal support (underwriting, commissions, contracts, claims).
- Coordinate marketing, sales, and support service for assigned accounts.
- Understand customer requirements and take actions that maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Proactively partner with internal contacts to resolve issues presented by customers and brokers.
- Consult with producer partners, present products, services, and plan design information to meet customer needs.
- Address customer questions and concerns regarding any aspect of the product offering.
- Minimum of 8 years proven sales experience in the self‑funding and/or MSL marketplace.
- Proven track record building a profitable MSL book, including new and renewal accounts, and meeting key performance targets.
- Exceptional knowledge of and relationships with GA, broker, and producer in the GI and MSL marketplace.
- Ability to create a positive work environment focused on transparency, execution and teamwork.
- Exceptional communication, influencing and partnership skills; results through cross‑functional team and matrix environment.
- Collaborative team player with the ability to influence and execute key strategies and build/maintain strong relationships across the organization.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity in a matrixed organization and guide, influence across multiple functional areas to achieve objectives.
- Strong understanding of the self‑funded and MSL insurance industry from a market and underwriting perspective, with ability to analyze financial and performance metrics.
- Ability to focus externally, identifying business trends, changes in market conditions and competitor activity.
- Active Life and Health Insurance license or obtained within 30 days of hire.
- Willing to travel up to 50%. This is a remote role.
