Preferred Qualifications
The territory covers Minnesota, Wisconsin, Northern Illinois, and Eastern Iowa. The ideal candidate will be based in Chicago or St Paul/Minneapolis. Demonstrated experience selling or leading teams within MRO and Janitorial/Sanitation product categories, with a strong understanding of customer needs, product applications, and industry trends. Sales management professional with recent people leader experience. Must develop and execute a strategic sales plan to manage existing customer base.
Collaborate with team members, internal partners, and vendors. Salesforce CRM knowledge. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Positive attitude, able to work through difficult times and stay focused. Able to handle and prioritize a variety of projects, requests, and situations.
Lead and direct field reports through the sales process. Design and recommend sales and marketing programs, set short‑and long‑term sales strategies, and develop and implement sales and customer retention programs to optimize sales performance, profitability, and customer satisfaction. Plan, forecast, and report on sales and competitive pricing activities and tactics. Requires operation of a personal vehicle at least 60% of the work week;
an acceptable motor vehicle record is required.
Oversee the daily operation of sales representatives, organizing them by channel, market, or product unit, while dedicating over 60% of time in the field. Collaborate with Account Managers to engage customers, pursue new opportunities, and address escalated issues. Define the sales process, devise effective and innovative sales strategies, identify areas for enhancement, and foster new account development. Co‑own the top, largest customers, and opportunities in the portfolio of business.
Drive deeper wallet share penetration into existing accounts. Analyze and develop reports through Salesforce to identify opportunities. Develop sales processes to drive desired outcomes and increase market share. Drive supplier engagement programs, provide product learning opportunities, and guidance on sell‑through. Oversee, coach, and foster the growth of direct reports and recruit top talent, conduct performance reviews, identify high performers, and provide coaching and development.
BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 7+ years of experience in a related field. Certification may be required. An advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.
Pay Range$ – $ per year.
