Position SummaryAs a Regional Sales Manager at Bodycote, you will drive business growth and develop strategic relationships within your assigned region. You will be responsible for prospecting new business opportunities, building long‑term partnerships, and collaborating with internal teams to align regional strategies with broader company goals. This role demands a proactive and strategic approach to sales, as well as a deep understanding of our heat‑treating services, to meet the needs of both new and existing customers.
EssentialJob Functions (Duties And Responsibilities)
- Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities within the region by leveraging market insights and company offerings. Engage with potential clients to understand their needs and present tailored solutions.
- Build and maintain strong, lasting relationships with key accounts and industry influencers. Work to expand existing accounts by identifying new revenue streams and optimizing service offerings.
- Collaborate with other Regional Sales Managers and cross‑functional teams to align strategies and share market insights. Drive consistent communication and collaboration to ensure the success of the sales organization across regions.
- Lead the development and execution of regional strategic account plans. Establish and manage sales targets, monitor progress, and ensure alignment with the overall business objectives.
- Lead the development and execution of key account management. Develop multiple customer touchpoints and conduct regular visits to customer sites to build relationships, gather feedback, and identify opportunities for improvement. Deliver presentations, seminars, and workshops to educate customers about Bodycote’s offerings.
- Leverage reporting and dashboards to provide accurate sales forecasts and timely reporting on sales activities, including pipeline development, new account acquisition, insightful sales metrics and competitor analysis.
- Stay up to date on industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions. Share insights with the team to ensure Bodycote remains competitive and responsive to customer needs.
- Responsible for the structure, staffing, development and growth of the sales team by providing coaching, training, and ongoing performance management to drive a high‑performing sales culture.
- Travel extensively (up to 50%) to meet with clients, prospects, and regional partners. Attend industry events and conferences to build networks and enhance the Bodycote brand.
- Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in strategic sales or business development, with a proven track record of success in driving revenue growth and securing new business. - Leadership:
Strong demonstrated experience leading a team of sales professionals. - Industry Knowledge:
Familiarity with heat treatment processes and the aerospace, automotive, or other relevant industries is a plus. Understanding of metal processing, materials science, or engineering is beneficial. - Sales & Negotiation
Skills:
Strong experience in consultative selling, account management, and contract negotiations. - Communication:
Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence at all levels within client organizations. - Collaboration:
Ability to work collaboratively across departments and regions. - Education:
A bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent experience in sales leadership. - Technical Aptitude:
Comfortable engaging in discussions with clients about technical services. No need to read blueprints, but a solid understanding of customer requirements and our offerings is essential. - SFDC Utilization:
Proven ability to use Salesforce (SFDC) effectively for managing sales pipelines, tracking customer interactions, and leveraging data to drive business development and growth strategies. - Other: A valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 50% of the time. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM tools.
