Position Summary
Freight Partners Group is seeking an experienced FCL Broker for Inside Sales to grow our drayage division while expanding customer relationships across FPG’s full suite of transportation services. This is a sales‑focused role built for someone who understands the freight forwarding, drayage, import/export, port, rail, and containerized freight environment.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in drayage sales and can position FPG as a premium logistics partner.

- Prospect, develop, and close new drayage customers nationwide, focusing on import and export FCL container moves.
- Sell to freight forwarders, NVOCCs, customs brokers, importers, exporters, manufacturers, distributors, and other containerized freight customers.
- Follow up on inbound leads, existing FPG marketing campaigns, and assigned prospect lists.
- Use Linked In, e‑mail, phone outreach, and CRM‑based follow‑up to engage prospects and move opportunities through the sales process.
- Build relationships with decision‑makers and influencers within freight forwarding, international logistics, and supply chain organizations.
- Sell FPG’s drayage capabilities across all U.S. port and rail markets.
- Quote drayage opportunities directly when appropriate and coordinate with the pricing and operations teams on complex requests.
- Understand customer requirements related to container size, port/rail location, pickup and delivery timing, chassis needs, weight restrictions, prepulls, transloads, accessorials, and special handling requirements.
- Identify opportunities to cross‑sell FPG’s additional services, including LTL, truckload, parcel, expedited, refrigerated, flatbed, over‑dimensional, same‑day/next‑day, and managed transportation solutions.
- Manage customer relationships after onboarding, ensuring strong communication, follow‑up, and continued account growth.
- Maintain accurate sales activity, prospect details, account notes, quote activity, and follow‑up tasks in company systems.
- Use Dray Master as part of the sales, quoting, and customer engagement process.
- Position FPG as a technology‑driven, responsive, multi‑mode logistics partner with the ability to support customers beyond a single shipment or mode.
- Work closely with operations, pricing, and leadership to ensure customer expectations are properly set and met.
- Support a premium customer experience by proactively communicating, identifying potential service issues, and helping customers avoid unexpected transportation costs.
- Minimum of 5+ years of transportation, logistics, drayage, or freight brokerage sales experience.
- Drayage sales experience is required.
- Strong understanding of import and export containerized freight.
- Experience selling into freight forwarders, NVOCCs, customs brokers, importers, exporters, or related international logistics customers.
- Working knowledge of port and rail drayage, FCL moves, chassis, demurrage, detention, prepulls, transloads, overweight considerations, and accessorial charges.
- Proven ability to prospect, develop, and close new business.
- Ability to explain transportation options and service expectations clearly to customers.
- Strong communication, follow‑up, and relationship‑building skills.
- Comfortable using technology platforms, sales tools, e‑mail, Linked In, and web‑based systems to manage customer activity.
- Ability to work remotely or in a hybrid environment with minimal supervision.
- Existing relationships within the freight forwarding, NVOCC, customs brokerage, or import/export community.
- An existing book of business or active customer relationships.
- Prior experience using Dray Master or similar drayage pricing/management platforms.
- Prior CRM experience.
- Experience selling multiple transportation modes beyond drayage.
- Familiarity with managed transportation services and consultative logistics selling.
- A hunter mentality.
- Existing freight‑forwarder relationships.
- Strong drayage knowledge.
- Ability to sell to both operational contacts and executive‑level decision‑makers.
