SALARY RANGE: $55,000-$90,000, commission-based salary with a guarantee. The salary range posted includes all commissions.

PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT:

The Energy Sales and Delivery Specialist will call on targeted patrons and prospects to market and deliver energy products and programs in their designated territory. This individual will work closely with the Tri County FS Greene County Manager, the Sales Manager, and other employees to ensure deliveries are made in a professional and timely manner.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

The Energy Sales and Delivery Specialist must maintain current customers and obtain new customers through sales activities that result in increased business and profitable sales. This includes the following core responsibilities:

  • Prospecting New Customers:
    • Identify potential prospects, including their current suppliers and management abilities, to determine how the Tri County FS, Inc. Energy Department may best earn new business.
    • Develop strategies to influence prospective customers to purchase from Tri County FS, Inc. This includes utilizing a sales interview road map to gather prospective customer information regarding any existing problems and/or profit limitations.
    • Develop monthly, weekly and daily plans for calling on prospects to convert problems to dollars – providing solutions with FS products or services.
  • Maintaining Current Customer Business:
    • Identify which customers to “keep full” and utilize a route system to be as efficient as possible with fuel deliveries.
    • Keep a customer file on all patrons - liquid fuel capacities, if tanks or pumps are owned by the company or the patron (equipment ownership), etc.
    • Get to know and understand the wants and needs of current customers, communicating any changes in the marketplace to the Assistant Manager.
    • Keep customers informed of relevant technical information and product changes.
  • Conducting Competitor Analysis:
    • Develop strategies designed to target specific competitor's weak areas.
    • Understand competitor product lines, how they market and why people buy from them.
    • Inform management of changes in the marketplace ( i.e., needs we are not meeting, products or services which are no longer moving the needle for customers).
  • Providing Strong Customer Service:
    • Proactively seek customer feedback to identify and manage any issues and/or dissatisfaction early.
    • Use appropriate procedures in handling complaints efficiently.
  • Administering Credit Policy:
    • Subscribe to and support company credit policy.
    • Check credit rating of prospects before conducting sales interviews.
    • Explain the company credit policy to all new customers when they initially purchase products.
    • Collect account information according to company policy.
  • Maintaining Self-Development and Growth:
    • Attend GROWMARK, Inc. trainings when enrolled by the Tri County FS, Inc. Greene County Manager.
    • Stay informed on current and upcoming technical information and changes within the agricultural production industry.
    • Display good judgment, positive attitude and enthusiasm in dealing with customers and employees.
    • Once you have met the minimum work experience to become an Energy Management Specialist (EMS) – you will be expected to study and test for that certification and to maintain “EMS” certification.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Help with company operations when asked - typically during busy seasons and when we are short-handed because of vacations or sickness.
  • Attend meetings as requested, including the Tri County FS, Inc. annual meeting.
