The Account Manager (Select Middle Market) supports producers and/or AEs in obtaining, maintaining, and expanding business. This role may also involve account rounding and new business development in accordance with standard practices, policies, and procedures.
Responsibilities- Manage a book of business generally in excess of $700,000 in revenue, depending on the complexity or number of accounts.
- Provide quality customer service to existing accounts with a goal of 93% retention or more.
- Collaborate within a team that includes Sales Executives, Producers, Sr. Account Managers, Associate Account Managers, and Account Coordinators.
- Ensure accurate maintenance of client information in EPIC.
- Accountable to administrative tasks including:
Annual Stewardship Reports;
Renewal Process— from pre‑renewal to proposal preparation to binding of coverages;
Loss Summary reviews;
Account System Maintenance;
Billing questions;
Marketing lines of coverage as needed;
Special projects and all other duties, as assigned. - Review carrier quotes and negotiate coverage items & pricing.
- Develop coverage comparisons to be used in proposals.
- Responsible for full account life cycle including the renewal process, quoting, proposal, binding and policy distribution.
- At least 3 years of experience and demonstrated proficiency in an insurance Account Management role in required P&C lines.
- Brokerage experience is preferred; experience managing accounts $5K‑$30K in revenue is preferred.
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
- Superior customer service and problem‑solving skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency with computer systems, including Microsoft Office and automated agency management systems.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- High level attention to detail is essential.
- Ability to work a regular, full‑time work schedule at HUB’s facility(s) and ability to travel on business when required.
- Currently licensed in good standing in required lines and states.
- Current with all necessary CE credits in required lines and states.
- Advanced professional designation highly desirable (e.g., AAI, ARM, CIC).
Salary range: $100,000 to $110,000, dependent on skills, experience, and location. Competitive benefits include health/dental/vision/life/disability insurance, FSA, HSA, 401(k), paid time off, bonuses, equity, and commissions for eligible positions.
