Metal master Roofmaster is hiring a seasoned commercial roofing sales professional to grow our Chicago and southern Wisconsin market. The right person knows how to find work, build relationships, and close roof replacement contracts through direct, negotiated deals with building owners. This is a field sales role. You will own your pipeline, source your own leads, and sell directly to property owners, property managers, and facility directors.
Technical knowledge of commercial roofing systems, flat and steep, is required. An existing book of business is a significant plus.
We are an established commercial roofing and architectural sheet metal contractor with in-house fabrication, including ACM wall panels, plus a full service division, so you can sell the full scope and we deliver it.
Key Responsibilities Lead Generation and Business Development- Identify and pursue commercial roof replacement opportunities through direct prospecting, referrals, and site visits.
- Build and maintain a pipeline of owner-direct prospects: building owners, property managers, facility directors, building engineers, and portfolio managers.
- Bring your own leads. An existing client roster makes you a standout candidate.
- Develop and maintain relationships with decision-makers across your territory.
- Develop and present negotiated proposals and pricing clearly and professionally, then follow up to close.
- Negotiate contracts and close sales in coordination with the project management team.
- Perform on-site roof inspections to assess scope, materials, labor, and timeline.
- Prepare your own competitive quotes and proposals, from site visit through signed contract. Our estimating team supports larger and more complex jobs.
- Work with operations so what you sell gets delivered right.
- Attend site walks and project meetings as required.
- Stay current on building conditions, competitor activity, and industry trends in your territory.
- Share market intelligence with the estimating and operations teams.
- 5 to 10 years in commercial roofing sales, or estimating with a strong sales track record.
- Solid knowledge of commercial roofing systems: TPO, EPDM, PVC, modified bitumen, built-up, and metal.
- Working knowledge of steep-slope systems is a plus.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to read and interpret roof plans, specifications, and construction documents.
- Valid driver's license. Comfortable on rooftops in all weather conditions.
Base salary of $90,000 to $130,000 depending on experience, plus uncapped commission.
