Job description

We are seeking a Business Development Director for our digital agency in Chicago.

This is a strong opportunity for someone who knows how to build net-new business in the agency world and is excited to sell full-funnel digital marketing solutions to enterprise and multi-location brands. We’re looking for a true hunter with experience opening doors, leading consultative conversations with senior marketing leaders, and managing complex sales cycles from outreach through close.

In this role, you’ll work closely with CMOs and digital marketing executives to position solutions across Paid Media, SEO, Local Presence Management, and AI-driven capabilities. You’ll also partner with internal strategy and channel teams to shape proposals, pitches, and growth plans that align with client goals.

Responsibilities
  • Build and manage a pipeline of net-new enterprise and multi-location brand opportunities
  • Prospect into target accounts using Hub Spot, Linked In Sales Navigator, and market research
  • Lead consultative discovery conversations with CMOs, VPs, and senior marketing stakeholders
  • Drive full sales cycles from initial outreach through proposals, pitches, RFPs, negotiation, and close
  • Position full-funnel agency capabilities across Paid Media, SEO, Local Presence Management, and AI-driven solutions
  • Partner with internal strategy, media, and SEO teams to develop compelling pitch narratives and accurate forecasts
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience selling digital marketing, media, or agency services
  • Proven success building pipeline from scratch and closing complex enterprise or multi-location deals
  • Strong executive presence and confidence engaging senior decision-makers
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Solid understanding of full-funnel digital marketing, including paid media, SEO, local marketing, and AI trends
  • Agency sales experience required;
    SaaS-only or tech-only backgrounds are not the right fit for this role

This role reports to the VP of Business Development, has no direct reports.
