Role Overview
Consult Partner – Strategic Growth & Client Engagement (Illinois – Springfield or Chicago Preferred). Key leadership role guiding multidisciplinary teams through complex consulting engagements, responsible for positioning strategic change agendas within Kyndryl’s largest accounts, and driving profitable growth.
Responsibilities- Lead overall client engagement and deliver high‑quality client work alongside senior client stakeholders across pre‑and post‑deal transaction environments.
- Drive significant financial outcomes through signings and revenue targets, managing margin expectations and backlog growth.
- Identify, pursue, and convert a pipeline of business development opportunities, including scoping and fee negotiation while ensuring profitability and risk containment.
- Serve as trusted advisor to state, local government, and K‑12/higher education clients; build and maintain long‑term relationships with public sector decision‑makers.
- Lead C‑level client interactions, consulting initiatives, deliverables, and outputs of deal engagements; demonstrate credibility and experience to advise on complex consulting engagements.
- Enhance client satisfaction, measured by Net Promoter Score (NPS) and new relationship development; secure client references.
- Achieve individual and team utilization targets; oversee design of complex engagements and delivery oversight to ensure high performance and customer satisfaction.
- Foster a culture of continuous personal and professional development, encouraging curiosity, innovation, and collaboration within the team.
- Shape and drive the company’s strategic initiatives, aligning with Kyndryl’s vision and contributing to external eminence and thought leadership.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within SLED accounts with strong understanding of California government budget cycles and fiscal year planning.
- Navigate public sector procurement processes, including RFPs, RFIs, sole‑source justifications, and cooperative purchasing vehicles (NASPO, OMNIA, GSA schedules).
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop tailored proposals and presentations that meet public sector compliance, security, and accessibility requirements.
- Monitor legislative, regulatory, and policy developments that impact client priorities or create new opportunities.
- Demonstrate ability to build and commercialize relationships with senior executives.
- Track record of leading and executing complex projects with multi‑disciplinary teams in a consulting, corporate, or public sector environment.
- Effective financial acumen with experience driving revenue growth and managing margins.
- Experience managing or supporting high‑value business development activities with senior stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of industry trends and technology; sound personal brand and presence in the industry.
- Demonstrated ability to innovate and drive change.
- Experience working in a sales role with SLED organizations.
- Experience with IT Professional Services and Solutions, specifically within or migrating to the Cloud.
- Deep understanding of government procurement regulations, public contracting law, and vendor compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with key compliance frameworks relevant to the public sector (CJIS, FERPA, HIPAA, FedRAMP, StateRAMP).
- Experience working across diverse stakeholder groups, including IT departments, finance offices, legal counsel, and elected or appointed leadership.
- Ability to manage long sales or project cycles inherent to public sector engagements.
- Strong written communication skills and experience responding to formal government solicitations.
- Prior experience in a government agency, public school district, or university system.
- Knowledge of digital equity initiatives, smart city programs, or government modernization efforts.
- Existing relationships within state agencies, municipalities, or educational institutions in the State of California.
Base salary range (U.S.): $185,760 – $334,320 (full‑time). Regional adjustments are as follows:
- California (San Francisco Bay Area): $222,960 – $401,160
- California (All Other): $204,360 – $367,800
- Colorado: $185,760 – $334,320
- Massachusetts: $185,760 – $367,800
- New York City: $222,960 – $401,160
- Washington: $204,360 – $367,800
- Washington DC: $204,360 – $367,800
Eligible for Kyndryl’s discretionary annual bonus program and comprehensive benefits package, including medical and dental coverage, disability, retirement benefits, paid leave, and paid time off. Sales commission plan may apply for commission‑eligible roles.
