Position Overview

Build a foundation in Device Sales by providing Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) service and sales support through a two‑to‑three‑year paid training program, the Sales Training Excellence Program (STEP).

Program Overview
  • Year One:
    Intense focus on training and clinical aptitude to develop a deep understanding of products and their clinical applications.
  • Year Two:
    Shift to the sales aspects of Cardiac Rhythm Management, providing the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in a sales environment.
  • Year Three:
    Continue patient case work and apply for open sales territories across the United States.
  • Job Responsibilities Technical Support
    • Complete clinical/technical training.
    • Represent Medtronic during surgeries and implants to provide troubleshooting and other technical assistance.
    • Provide technical support with device reprogramming, follow‑ups, and trouble‑shooting in hospitals and clinics.
    • Provide on‑call support as needed for surgeries, device reprogramming, troubleshooting, and follow‑up enrollments, including evenings and weekends.
    Educational Support
    • Educate physicians and allied healthcare professionals on technical matters related to products and therapies.
    • Provide training and resources for allied healthcare professionals to enable train‑the‑trainer sessions.
    Sales Support
    • Complete sales training processes.
    • During/after cases, complete necessary documentation (e.g., implant registration, , mStar) and customer service calls.
    • Update sales representatives regarding cases and immediately notify them of issues requiring follow‑up.
    • Serve as an effective Medtronic representative to physicians and support staff regarding products, service, and support.
    • Manage inventories (consignment, trunk, district office, loaner products) and support rotation and delivery to optimize customer service and efficiency.
    • Promote Carelink enrollment at time of implants.
    • Request and obtain purchase orders after implants per district guidelines.
    • Conduct regular unsolicited calls to hospitals or clinics.
    • Maintain current knowledge of Medtronic therapies, programs, products, services, and competitive products.
    • Maintain open, effective communication with all Medtronic personnel and customers.
    Sales Responsibilities per District Manager Assignment
  • Perform sales responsibilities for specified accounts.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications Basic Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree.
    • 2+ years of sales experience.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • 3+ years of sales with a proven record of success.
    • Ability to work with many different customers from varying backgrounds.
    Physical

    Job Requirements
    • Frequent required travel to customer clinics, hospitals, and off‑site meetings; employee must be independently mobile.
    • Ability to transport product/equipment from car to hospital.
    • Ability to drive approximately 80% of the time within assigned territory and must have a valid driver’s license and active vehicle insurance policy.
    Work and Travel Requirements
    • Available/willing to work and travel weekends and evenings.
    • Position requires on‑call time.
    • Continuous verbal and written communication.
    • Transport product/equipment from car to hospital.
    • Sitting, standing, and/or walking for up to eight plus hours per day.
    • Environmental exposures include eye protection, infectious disease, and radiation.
    • Ability to travel extensively (approx. 10% of time).
    U.S. Work Authorization & Sponsorship

    Roles below the Principal level require candidates to possess unrestricted U.S. work authorization at the time of hire and for the duration of employment.

    Benefits & Compensation

    Salary ranges for U.S. (excl. PR) locations: $85,000 – $95,000. In addition to base salary, the position is eligible for a Sales Incentive Plan (SIP). Employees receive the following benefits:
