Risk Advisor Responsibilities
- Achieves annual new revenue objectives through consultative sales to new clients and expansion of service lines to existing clients.
- Exhibits thought leadership and industry engagement through associations, speaking panels, and demonstrates expertise in selected industry verticals.
- Develops an annual individual sales plan (ISP) with a pipeline coverage ratio of 5X or aligned with current company metrics to ensure consistent goal attainment.
- Builds an active pipeline of qualified prospects by generating leads from personal contacts, client referrals, prospect pursuit campaigns (PPCs), colleagues and marketing sources.
- Documents new business activity and closes new business in the sales tracking system, recording win/loss outcomes and reasons.
- Develops and presents consultative recommendations to clients, assessing risk issues, needs, and potential uninsurable or difficult exposures.
- Recommends and assists clients with technical services such as loss control and claims advocacy programs.
- Seamlessly transitions sold clients to the designated client service/account management team.
- Serves as a valued advisor, building strategic and personal relationships with key client decision makers.
- Communicates with leadership, providing field input on market trends, competitor analysis, and business intelligence.
- Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
- Property and Casualty Insurance License required and must be maintained.
- College degree or minimum two years of sales experience in the insurance industry preferred.
- Experience working with complex commercial coverage.
- Strong negotiator, avid problem solver, and ability to work well with diverse personalities to ensure sales.
- In-depth understanding of insurance markets, products, usage, rating, and underwriting procedures.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills to explain complex coverages and respond effectively.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a demanding environment.
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Computer literate with ability to learn new software applications.
