Business Development Representative
LIFELENZ is seeking a driven, disciplined Business Development Rep to join our US team, based in Chicago. This is an individual contributor role sitting at the front end of our sales engine and responsible for generating qualified pipeline through outbound prospecting, targeted outreach, and relentless follow-through.
We are looking for someone who finds energy in the daily outbound sales - who picks up the phone, crafts sharp outreach, builds prospect lists, and books meetings that matter. You will be the critical link between the LIFELENZ brand and the operators and decision-makers we are trying to reach.
Our ideal candidate brings a proven track record of outbound business development in a SaaS environment, strong communication skills, and the resilience and self-motivation that makes quota feel like a floor, not a ceiling. Experience in QSR, hospitality, workforce management, HR tech, or payroll is highly valued - you will be speaking the language of our buyers from day one.
Key Responsibilities- Pipeline Generation & Outbound Prospecting (50%)
- Execute high-volume outbound prospecting via cold calling, email, and Linked In - consistently hitting daily and weekly activity targets.
- Research target accounts, identify key decision-makers, and build accurate, well-organised prospect lists.
- Craft personalised, compelling outreach that cuts through the noise and reflects a genuine understanding of the prospect's business context.
- Follow up persistently and professionally on cold outreach, inbound leads, and event contacts to convert interest into qualified conversations.
- Book qualified meetings, ensuring smooth handoffs and clear context for every introduction.
- Account-Based Outreach & Campaign Support (25%)
- Partner with leadership to support account-based outreach programs, executing targeted campaigns against defined prospect segments.
- Coordinate outreach sequences across channels, ensuring consistent messaging and timely follow-up throughout the campaign cycle.
- Identify and engage attendees, referrals, and warm contacts generated through industry events, webinars, and partner activity.
- CRM Discipline & Reporting (25%)
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all activity, contacts, and pipeline data in the CRM (Salesforce) - no exceptions.
- Provide weekly reporting on activity completed, meetings booked, opportunities created, and pipeline generated.
- Proactively flag blockers, patterns, and learnings that can sharpen outreach strategy and improve conversion over time.
- 2–5 years of hands-on experience in a business development, outbound sales, or SDR role, with a demonstrable track record of pipeline generation and meeting targets.
- Comfortable making high volumes of outbound calls and managing multiple outreach channels simultaneously.
- Experience in a SaaS or enterprise technology environment is strongly preferred.
- Background in QSR, franchise, hospitality, workforce management, HR tech, or payroll would be a significant advantage.
- Proficiency with CRM platforms (Salesforce, Hub Spot, or equivalent) and sales engagement tools (Outreach, Salesloft, Apollo, or similar).
- Familiarity with Linked In Sales Navigator for prospecting and contact identification.
- Resilience & Persistence: handles rejection with equanimity and keeps showing up with energy and professionalism regardless of the outcome of the last call.
- Discipline & Organisation: highly process-driven; manages a large prospect list and outreach cadence without letting anything slip through the cracks.
- Strong Communication: clear, concise, and compelling - both on the phone and in writing; adapts tone and messaging to suit different audiences and buyer personas.
- Commercial Curiosity: genuinely interested in the industries and operators we serve; invests time in understanding the buyer's world to make outreach relevant and resonant.
- Self-Motivation: owns their own activity and output; does not need to be managed to hit numbers — thrives with autonomy and clear accountability.
- Coachability:
Receptive to feedback and committed to continuous improvement of their approach, messaging, and conversion skills.
