As a premier event destination, Barcocina offers a private party room and flexible catering options for groups from 20 to over 400 people. The team is focused on becoming one of Chicago's go-to spots to eat, drink, and socialize.
The Sales Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Chicago, IL, responsible for driving event and group sales, building strong relationships with guests, and maximizing revenue opportunities. Day-to-day responsibilities include prospecting event inquiries, conducting site visits, preparing proposals, and negotiating contracts for private and semi-private events. The Sales Manager will collaborate closely with operations, culinary, and bar teams to ensure seamless execution of events and an excellent guest experience.
The role also involves maintaining an up-to-date pipeline, tracking performance against sales targets, and developing outreach campaigns with local businesses, community organizations, and hospitality partners. Additionally, the Sales Manager will represent Barcocina at networking events and actively promote the venue as a premier destination for social and corporate gatherings.
- Proven experience in hospitality, restaurant, or event sales, with a track record of meeting or exceeding revenue goals.
- Strong relationship-building and customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with diverse clients.
- Solid organizational and time-management skills, including managing multiple leads, events, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Competence with basic sales tools and software (CRM systems, email, spreadsheets) and comfort working with reports and metrics.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including operations, kitchen, and bar staff, to deliver successful events.
- Flexible schedule with willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed for events, site visits, and client meetings.
- Knowledge of the Chicago hospitality market and local networking channels is highly beneficial.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality Management, Marketing, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
