Position
Catering Sales Manager – Radisson Blu Aqua Chicago Downtown
Key Responsibilities- Achieves market share and revenue goals by working with the Director of Sales and Director of Catering on team goals.
- Prepares proposals and contracts to maximize profit while satisfying client needs.
- Responds to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) in alignment with brand standards.
- Communicates booked and assigned clients’ requests to all departments via group resumes and details in BEOs.
- Solicits files on time to confirm business and uses outside sales calls, prospecting, hotel tours, and hosting of clients to solicit new business.
- Delivers and sells hotel’s features and benefits to meet clients’ needs.
- Contacts in‑house customers to retain and grow existing business; pursues repeat bookings or referrals to other Radisson Hotels.
- Reviews individual goals weekly; recommends and takes actions to achieve objectives.
- Ensures maximum occupancy by following up on progress of groups booked with event services and meeting planners.
- Ensures all materials used are in accordance with brand standards.
- Participates in business strategy development aligned with Radisson’s mission and values.
- Develops and implements strategies for achieving individual sales goals.
- Maintains flow of information to sales team and reviews sales work files of assigned accounts.
- Assists in completion of monthly booking reports; prepares forecasts and reports to improve decision making.
- Creates 100% guest satisfaction through performance that exceeds expectations.
Responsibilities #1 (70%):
Sales initiatives, managing RFPs, detailing BEOs, generating new leads, negotiating and accommodating client catering service requests.
Responsibilities #2 (20%):
Conduct market research and analysis to align with industry trends and opportunities, maintain client loyalty, follow up with new leads.
Responsibilities #3 (10%):
Attend networking events, serve as brand advocate publicly.
- High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 1–3 years of hotel catering or convention experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong negotiation and mathematical skills.
- General knowledge of contract laws; local market knowledge preferred.
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office, Delphi, and/or Opera.
- Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) desirable.
- Ability to collaborate with hotel employees and managers.

Salary Range: $70,000 – $85,000 annually.
