The Role
The Account Manager serves as a strategic business partner to OTR's customers and is responsible for driving customer retention, organic revenue growth, and operational excellence across an assigned portfolio. This role collaborates closely with Sales, Carrier Sales, Operations, and Leadership to develop and execute customer-specific strategies while ensuring exceptional service delivery. The Account Manager acts as a trusted advisor to customers, identifying opportunities to strengthen partnerships, optimize supply chain performance, and expand OTR's transportation and logistics solutions.
What You’ll Do:- Collaborate cross-functionally to develop and execute customer-specific growth and retention strategies.
- Identify opportunities to drive organic revenue growth within assigned accounts.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customer stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Serve as the primary strategic point of contact for assigned customers.
- Lead customer-facing initiatives and ensure alignment between customer expectations and operational execution.
- Develop and implement operational protocols designed to meet and exceed customer service expectations.
- Conduct market research and communicate transportation industry trends, challenges, and opportunities impacting customer supply chains.
- Maintain expertise across OTR's transportation, logistics, and supply chain service offerings.
- Partner with Operations, Carrier Sales, and Customer Sales teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
- Proactively identify and resolve service issues while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Drive process improvements and leverage technology to increase efficiency, scalability, and customer value.
- Mentor and support team members through coaching, education, and knowledge sharing.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and service excellence.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2-4 years of logistics, transportation, freight brokerage, or supply chain experience.
- Strong understanding of transportation solutions, supply chain management, and logistics service offerings.
- Demonstrated client-facing account management experience.
- Outstanding negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders across departments.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a results-driven approach.
- Passion for continuous learning, innovation, and process improvement.
- Proficiency with CRM, TMS, and Microsoft Office applications.
