Quotations Specialist – Lighting & Controls

Ever Lights is seeking an experienced Quotations Specialist
- Lighting & Controls to join our team and play a key role in supporting our continued growth in the electrical, lighting, and controls industry.

This is a hands-on position for someone with strong electrical and lighting knowledge who understands distribution, can accurately interpret plans and specifications, and knows how to develop competitive quotations for lighting and controls projects. The Quotations Specialist will work closely with sales, manufacturers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure customers receive accurate, timely, and competitive solutions.

What You'll Do

• Prepare accurate and competitive quotations for lighting and controls projects.
• Review plans, specifications, fixture schedules, electrical drawings, addenda, and other bid documents.
• Perform detailed material takeoffs and identify required fixtures, controls, accessories, and related electrical products.
• Interpret electrical and lighting plans and specifications to determine project scope and product requirements.
• Obtain and compare pricing, lead times, availability, alternates, and value-engineering options from manufacturers and vendors.
• Work closely with sales representatives to develop pricing and identify opportunities to win projects.
• Research product specifications, substitutions, alternates, and equivalent products when needed.
• Identify scope gaps, exclusions, substitutions, and potential project risks before quotations are submitted.
• Ensure quotations are complete, accurate, competitive, and delivered within established deadlines.
• Maintain organized quotation documentation, pricing information, and supporting materials.
• Communicate with manufacturers and vendors to resolve product, pricing, availability, and technical questions.
• Support sales and customers with technical product information and recommendations.
• Coordinate with purchasing, project management, operations, and other internal teams as projects move from quotation to order.
• Assist with project handoff by ensuring the awarded scope, products, pricing, and special requirements are clearly communicated.
• Stay current on lighting products, controls technology, manufacturer offerings, and industry trends.
• Identify opportunities to improve quotation accuracy, efficiency, and profitability.
• Perform other duties and projects as needed to support the sales and operations teams.

What We're Looking For

• Experience in lighting, electrical, controls, electrical distribution, or related construction industries
  .
• Strong knowledge of lighting products and electrical systems
  .
• Experience preparing quotations, estimates, bids, or material takeoffs.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, lighting plans, fixture schedules, and specifications
  .
• Understanding of lighting controls and the ability to learn and apply manufacturer-specific controls solutions.
• Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple quotations, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively with salespeople, customers, manufacturers, vendors, and internal departments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn company ERP and quoting systems.
• Experience with Bluebeam, Acumatica, or similar estimating/ERP software is a plus.
• Electrical or lighting industry experience is strongly preferred.
