Target hiring range for this position will be between $67,000 - $72,426.60 per year. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

The Northwestern University Clinical and Translational Sciences (NUCATS) Institute is part of the Feinberg School of Medicine. NUCATS' mission is to accelerate innovative and inclusive clinical research discoveries to improve human health for all. The Institute supports clinical and translational research through expertise in clinical research infrastructure, education and career development, community-engaged research, data science, biostatistics, and other key areas.

This position is part of the NUCATS Institute's Center for Education & Career Development and will work closely with NUCATS leadership, faculty, staff, trainees, and institutional partners. This position will interact with students, faculty, and NUCATS staff members. Strong interpersonal communication, project management, organizational, and writing skills are essential for success in this role, as is the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining close attention to detail.

The Project Coordinator Senior role oversees research staff development programs including, but not limited to, Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) Basic Training, the Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) Mentoring Program, and administration of the Enhancing Quality in the Translational Research Workforce (EQuaTR) Conference. The position provides direction and leadership to ensure effective, compliant, and efficient daily management of all operational, financial, and business functions of assigned programs and projects.

The Project Coordinator Sr. will also represent NUCATS in clinical research workforce‑focused communities of practice and support strategic initiatives that advance workforce development and clinical and translational research across the institution.

This is a hybrid position, with the expectation of working both on Northwestern's Chicago campus and remotely.

• Oversees & ensures that day‑to‑day operations are appropriately managed, efficient, and effective.
• Develops, maintains & reports on quantitative and qualitative performance measures.
• Oversees documentation of agreements between NU and partner organizations, ensuring that agreements are completed, appropriately reviewed, approved, and adhered to by all parties.
• Acts as liaison to IT to ensure technology systems are properly installed & maintained & meet the informational, analytical & computing needs of users.
• Ensures necessary hardware, software & network infrastructure services are appropriated from central or internal IT.
• Issues work order requests for maintenance, repairs & upgrades.

• Oversees accurate, efficient, and compliant workflow of all transactional processes across areas/units.
• Creates & oversees finances, budget, associated analysis & reports.
• Creates/enhances internal daily, monthly & annual processes & training.
• Reviews exception forms and reimbursements that require special attention.
• Develops fees, charges, recharge rates, etc. for services.
• Approves fund reallocation within budget as necessary & appropriate.
