As a Security Officer - Unarmed - Retail in Chicago, IL
, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. You will join a leading team where flexibility meets opportunity. As a Flex Part-Time Security Officer, you can build a schedule that works for you and explore new roles using our Claim a Shift platform. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy retail and mall location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents.

You will support access control and badge processes, respond to questions with a customer-first approach, and document activity using a computer and/or tablet. At Allied Universal, you will be agile, reliable, innovative, and guided by teamwork and integrity.

Pay Rate: $23.50 / Hour

Job Schedule: Thur 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM

• Provide customer service to guests, tenants, and store associates by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a retail and mall environment.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of common areas, corridors, exterior walkways, and parking areas to help deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
• Monitor for suspicious activity, disturbances, and maintenance or access issues, and take appropriate action in accordance with post orders, including contacting property management and/or emergency services as needed.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, assisting with crowd control, and coordinating with local law enforcement when required.
• Document patrols, incidents, and customer interactions using written reports and/or electronic systems, and communicate key information during shift handoff.

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
