As a Security Officer - Unarmed Foot Patrol in Chicago, IL
, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within an educational campus and museum environment.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications and assisting with scene control until appropriate parties arrive.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, galleries, classrooms, offices, storage areas, and perimeter grounds to help deter unauthorized access, vandalism, and/or other policy violations.
• Monitor access points and interior spaces, verify credentials when required, and assist with visitor flow and directions during classes, special events, and/or public programs.
• Complete detailed reports and logs, document unusual activity and/or maintenance concerns, and communicate updates to Allied Universal supervision and site contacts.

• Applicants must provide proof of a high school diploma and/or GED.
• Applicants must be 21+ years of age.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• A guard card and/or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
