Lead Security Officer and Flex​/PRN Officers

Responsibilities

The Security Officer Lead provides supervisory oversight during their shift, ensuring the effective execution of security operations and maintaining a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff. This role is responsible for coordinating daily activities within the department, overseeing security documentation, and ensuring prompt responses to security concerns. The Security Officer Lead also plays a critical role in hiring, training, and educating security personnel while maintaining scheduling, payroll management, and ensuring 24/7 security coverage.

This position requires strong leadership, organization, and attention to detail to uphold security standards and foster a professional security team.

• Assures safe and secure environment.
• Guards, patrols, or monitors premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules.
• Patrols premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates.
• Answers alarms and investigate disturbances.
• Monitors and authorizes entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintains security of premises.
• Writes reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
• Calls police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
• Circulates among visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order and protect property.
• Warns persons of rule infractions or violations, and apprehends or evicts violators from premises, using force when necessary.
• Operates detecting devices to screen individuals and prevents passage of prohibited articles into restricted areas.

Performs duties while maintaining good service excellence and service recovery skills at all times. Practices the principles outlined in the document "Hartgrove's Rules of Engagement".

JOB SPECIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.

Education: High School Diploma required. Some College or Higher Education preferred.

Experience: Minimum 1-3 years experience in security at a psychiatric hospital/healthcare facility preferred.

Licensure/Certification: BLS licensure/certification preferred.

Knowledge: Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to interact effectively and politely with hospital staff, visitors, doctors, etc.
