Job DescriptionAs a Security Officer - Unarmed Foot Patrol in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. Join Allied Universal at a renowned education-focused cultural campus, where you will monitor and patrol galleries, entrances, and public areas to help spot and report security-related concerns. You will complete routine rounds, stay visible to help deter incidents, assist guests with directions and questions, and communicate clearly with staff and visitors.

What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within an educational campus and museum environment.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications and assisting with scene control until appropriate parties arrive.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, galleries, classrooms, offices, storage areas, and perimeter grounds to help to deter unauthorized access, vandalism, and/or other policy violations.
- Monitor access points and interior spaces, verify credentials when required, and assist with visitor flow and directions during classes, special events, and/or public programs.
- Complete detailed reports and logs, document unusual activity and/or maintenance concerns, and communicate updates to Allied Universal supervision and site contacts.
Minimum Requirements:
- Applicants must provide proof of a high school diploma and/or GED.
- Applicants must be 21+ years of age.
- CPR certification is preferred.
- A guard card and/or license is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
