Job Description

The Security Officer maintains a safe and secure environment for guests, visitors and team members. They provide protective and enforcement functions in a courteous and restrained manner in coping with emergencies, undesired conduct, disturbances and threats to life and property. Incident and accident reports are prepared accurately and in the format specified by the Operations Manager.

Salary: $25.95/hour

Responsibilities
  • Perform security rounds of the hotel and office tower, including restaurant and banquet level, all lobby areas, associates entrance, all guest floors, executive offices, service levels (back of the house areas), office tower lobby and floors, loading dock, perimeter of the building, and all locations requiring special attention as frequently as required.
  • Respond immediately to emergency incidents and security requests to which the officer is assigned.
  • Ensure maximum safety and security for guests, associates, office tower tenants and the hotel at all times.
  • Be courteous, tactful, and helpful, but firm in enforcing hotel policies and procedures.
  • Report in writing on all activities during each shift before leaving the hotel, with oral reports and emergency notifications delivered as directed by established security procedures.
  • Perform duties as assigned by the Management Team and respond to directions from any Executive Committee member or any member of Management.
  • Create and maintain the highest standards of security, exhibiting professional attitude, appearance, and application.
  • Check associates leaving and entering the hotel at the beginning and end of shift, or at any time when an associate leaves the hotel. Collect all package passes and inspect parcels taken from the hotel.
  • Greets all Office Tower tenants and guests, maintaining the management and safety of the office tower lobby and floors.
  • Politely greet guests of the Office Tower, direct them to their desired destination while maintaining a record of their visit.
  • Monitor the security of the receiving dock.
  • Confiscate all unauthorized parcels and notify the Operations Manager and the appropriate department head.
  • Check all 's of the hotel staff and provide information and direction upon proper identification of all job applicants, salesmen, etc. Notify the department head involved for permission for non‑staff personnel to enter the premises.
  • Do not leave assigned station unless properly relieved as specified by another member of the security team.
  • Perform all necessary clerical requirements of the security team under the supervision of the Operations Manager or Security Supervisor, including filing, processing work orders, ordering supplies, maintaining necessary schedules, and posting bulletin board information.
  • Protect the hotel from the admission of undesirables and others not conducting legitimate business within the premises.
Supportive Functions
  • Provide accurate information to inquirers for directions and hours of operation.
  • Receive, record and secure found property; research and respond to guests’ inquiries for lost property.
