Position Overview

As a Director in the Hilco Global Investigations & Dispute Resolution practice, you will be a senior leader responsible for managing significant e‑discovery and litigation support matters, developing trusted client relationships, and contributing directly to the strategic growth of the practice. You will oversee major engagements involving discovery strategy, data scoping, preservation, processing, hosting, analytics, review management, production, privilege workflows, and defensible reporting in litigation, investigations, regulatory response, disputes, and special situations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead significant e‑discovery, litigation support, document review, regulatory response, and discovery strategy matters across investigations, disputes, restructuring, and special‑situations engagements.
  • Advise clients, counsel, boards, investors, lenders, and other stakeholders on data strategy, discovery obligations, review design, analytics, production issues, and defensible workflows.
  • Oversee engagement teams across multiple concurrent matters and ensure excellence in execution, documentation, quality control, client communication, and deliverables.
  • Serve as a senior client contact and help develop durable, trusted relationships with law firms, corporate clients, boards, lenders, investors, and other market participants.
  • Direct the development of discovery plans, review strategies, analytics approaches, production protocols, status reports, metrics, and client presentations.
  • Partner with leadership on practice strategy, market positioning, technology strategy, talent development, recruiting, and business growth.
  • Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and originate new work where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with professionals across Hilco's broader capital solutions, restructuring, valuation, advisory, forensic accounting, investigations, and dispute resolution platform to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Mentor Managers and Associate Directors and help build the long‑term leadership bench of the practice.
  • Represent the practice in the market through thought leadership, speaking engagements, recruiting, and other brand‑building activities.
  • Help define the culture, standards, workflow protocols, vendor strategy, and external profile of a growing e‑discovery capability.
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, business, legal studies, accounting, finance, economics, or a related discipline required; candidates with master's degrees or JD degrees are strongly encouraged and will be prioritized.
  • Approximately 10+ years of relevant experience in e‑discovery, litigation support, forensic technology, managed review, investigations, disputes, or related consulting services.
  • Strong track record of leading complex e‑discovery matters and managing senior client and counsel relationships.
  • Deep technical credibility in one or more areas such as EDRM strategy, review workflow design, analytics, technology‑assisted review, large‑scale productions, privilege workflows, data governance for discovery, or managed review.
  • Demonstrated success leading teams in a professional services environment.
  • Strong commercial instincts and interest in supporting business development and practice growth.
  • Excellent communication, writing, presentation, and relationship‑management skills.
  • Professional credentials such as RCA, CEDS, ACEDS, Relativity certifications, PMP, JD, CFE, or similar credentials are valued depending on specialization.
  • Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment and contribute to building a leading practice.
