• Perform security patrols of hospital grounds on foot or in vehicle; document detailed observations of unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Assist hospital staff with de-escalation of situations involving patients; restrain combative individuals as necessary.
• Transport patients to the morgue, as needed.
• Assist in escorting patients from helicopter pad to the emergency room.
• Assist with evacuations during fires, medical emergencies, and natural disasters.
• Sound alarms or call police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators of rule infractions such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits; ensure only authorized individuals enter and exit the hospital, and that no contraband or hospital items are brought in or out.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized removal of property within client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 21 years of age or older, as required by law.
• Must be able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively; identify critical issues quickly and accurately.
• Ability to mediate conflict with tact and diplomacy.
• Write informatively, clearly, and accurately.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and may be required prior to employment.

• Service in a military occupational specialty related to law enforcement, security, or a support role in a combat zone.
• Graduate of a Certified Public Safety Academy or verified work experience in law enforcement, adult corrections, or firefighting.
• Associate's degree (or 60 credits) or higher in law enforcement or criminal justice with current or prior active military service.

• Pay range: $19.80 / hour – $23.30 / hour. Overnight shift premium of $2.00 / hour. PSO and ED specific rates apply after weapons detection training certification.
