Job DescriptionAs a Security Officer Driver Patrol in Chicago, IL
, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. Join Allied Universal as a Security Officer in an education location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, perform routine driving patrols, and remain visible to help deter security-related incidents. You will support a welcoming environment through strong communication and customer service, while bringing our values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity to each shift.

- Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as appropriate.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting relevant details and communicating with campus contacts and Allied Universal leadership as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout academic buildings, common areas, parking locations, and perimeter areas to help deter unwanted activity and report unusual conditions.
- Monitor access points, check credentials when required, and support authorized entry procedures for classrooms, residence-related areas, offices, and/or event spaces.
- Assist with traffic and pedestrian flow during peak campus hours, special events, and/or scheduled activities while reporting hazards, maintenance concerns, and security-related issues.
- Proof of high school diploma or GED is required.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
