Overview

Security Officer L1 – 5303 at NTT Global Data Centers Americas, Inc. in Chicago, IL, US. This full-time, on-site position offers opportunities for career growth. You will join a team that drives innovation and sustainability in the digital world, supporting data center operations and security processes.

• Under the direction of the Security Supervisor, perform administrative and operational duties for the site security team.
• Collaborate with the Data Center Operations Team (DCOPS) to ensure security measures are in place and functioning properly.
• Serve as an experienced client-facing security officer with clear and concise communication.
• Protect personnel and company property, manage access control, monitor CCTV systems, respond to incidents, and complete written reports.
• Collaborate with other departments to assist with the efficient operation of the data center, including Shipping & Receiving.
• Enforce and adhere to security procedures based on policies determined by the Security Management team.
• Maintain vigilance and attention to detail to contribute to a secure environment for the data center customer and infrastructure.
• Maintain familiarity with Security procedures and policies in addition to Company policies.
• Regular and predictable attendance is essential.

• Education:
  
  High School diploma or GED required; additional security-related education or training is a plus.
• Experience:
  
  At least 1 year in a security role; prior experience in a Data Center or similar environment is a plus. Experience in administration and operation of access control systems, CCTV systems with digital recording, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Certifications:
  
  Active certifications such as Certified Security Guard (CSG) or Certified Protection Officer (CPO) as mandated by state regulations, to be obtained within six months of commencing employment and maintained throughout tenure.
• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  Strong observation and surveillance skills; ability to remain calm in emergencies; excellent client-facing communication; ability to multi-task and work in a process-driven team; strong organizational skills; ability to follow instructions and security procedures.

• Primarily walking, standing, bending; ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to hear, speak, and use a telephone and walkie-talkie; close visual work on a computer terminal; dexterity to operate a keyboard and mouse.
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders; ability to work extended periods in varying temperatures and environmental conditions.

• Data Center environment including outdoor perimeter and grounds; exposure to weather, fumes, and loud noises.
• Must work on-site (no telecommuting); adherence to PPE guidelines and NTT dress code.
• Ability to respond to emergencies and work outside normal hours, including weekends, late nights, and holidays; be part of on-call protocol.
• BYOD participation with a mobile device capable of downloading active applications; valid driver’s license required for duties across nearby buildings using company vehicles.
• Must pass background check and drug test; CPR/First Aid certification preferred or obtainable after joining.
• Forklift certification possession or willingness to obtain; initial and ongoing certification training provided by NTT.

Pay range:
Hourly base salary is $20.19 – $28.85 and is eligible for overtime per local, state, and federal requirements. A monthly device stipend may be provided for using a personal device.
