PositionThe New School seeks professional Security Officers who will be responsible for the security and safety of the institution’s buildings. This Local 32BJ position reports to the Security Shift Supervisor.
Responsibilities- Knowledge of all site‑specific policies and procedures.
- Implement emergency response activities as appropriate.
- Provide superior customer service and building and premises security.
- Minimum of 3 years of related work experience.
- 30 college credits from an accredited college or university or the equivalent combination of security, military, or law enforcement experience.
- New York State‑Issued Security Guard License.
- Proficient in the English language.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- State Fire Safety Director's License (a plus).
This position is primarily in‑person and is based on campus to support effective in‑person collaboration and engagement.
CompensationHourly Rate: $18 per hour.
